Builder Stories:

Bhaumik Patel

Bhaumik Patel, founder of Atrium Academy, leveraged his decade-plus experience across educational formats - from cohort-based courses and bootcamps to accelerators and hackathons - to create the Uniswap Hook Incubator.

The program is successfully bridging the gap between new technology and developer capabilities, educating hundreds of developers each year to build on Uniswap v4 before it even hits mainnet. The initiative's impact has been so significant that the Uniswap Foundation awarded them a second grant in November 2024 to expand the program. "Every playbook is dynamic. Running the Hook Incubator has taught us the importance of continual improvement and maintaining integrity. Everything can always be better," says Bhaumik.

Lily J's path into the world of crypto is both unique and inspiring. It all started in high school when she took a coding class to impress a cute boy. "He was really bad at coding, but now he’s a doctor, so it’s okay," she laughs. Despite the initial motivation, Lily found a genuine passion for coding, leading her to pursue a degree in computer science.

After college, Lily landed her first job at Meta, where she worked on a compiler team and later on an operating systems team. In 2022, inspired by a friend's success in the NFT community, she decided to dive into the crypto world. A Solidity boot camp followed, and soon she was part of an auditing firm within the crypto security community. Her journey took a significant turn when she received a grant from the TLDR Fellowship program.

Project Overview

Lily's project aimed to provide a proof of concept repository of academic research, focusing on ways to help Automated Market Makers (AMMs) with Last Value at Risk (LVR) and sandwiching problems. Collaborating with her dedicated council member, Matheus V. X. Ferreira and mentor, Mallesh Pai, she implemented existing research on verified sequencing rules to address these issues. The project evolved to explore sequencing rules for on-chain applications, benefiting various DeFi projects beyond
