community news

ready, set, build: we made an exhaustive list of the tools, guides, grants chats, and more that you can use to start building on uniswap today. check it out here.

learn from the goat: join sauce in nyc for a workshop on exploring new possibilities on v4. you’ll learn about use cases, design patterns, and practical examples to get you inspired and ready to ship. rsvp here.

1b tvs milestone: gauntlet's retro on their unichain liquidity mining campaign shows volume growth outpaced incentive spend, with 50% of lp revenue from base yields and strong performance from hooked pools by bunni, euler, renzo, and aegis.

hook contracts are ready: we gave a grant to open zeppelin to create a standardized hooks contract library, enabling mev protection, limit orders, jit, and more. you can use these today to start building your own hook. learn more here.

institutional defi grows: our executive director devin discussed how traditional finance is embracing onchain liquidity with nader from eigen, lesley from paxos and nikhil from predicate. check out the full conversation on infinite layers.

ufsf applications open: the uniswap foundation security fund is still open for august cohort applications. get up to 100% audit costs covered, curated high-quality providers, and hands-on guidance. apply here by august 7.

angstrom on mainnet: built with support from the uf’s hook design lab, angstrom is designed to enable sustainable + efficient composable onchain trading. their unique dex combines a protected liquidity layer, an app-specific mempool and a validator network secured by eigen layer. learn all about it here, and catch ludwig on bankless here.

builder stories

speaking of angstrom: bita, our growth manager, sat down with ludwig from sorella and dan from paradigm on launch day. they covered how angstrom protects lps from mev extraction, the auction mechanisms that redirect arbitrage value back to liquidity providers, and building on uniswap v4. watch the full interview.

on sorella's mission
“our objective has always been to make lp’ing more profitable. we realized that there was this fundamental problem that was holding lps back, and our mission is to fix it at the root by building a dex that makes liquidity providing sustainable and profitable, and at the same time improving execution quality for swappers."

on the problems with current systems
"if we looked at, for example, the new stock exchange and we imagine that they gave a single hedge fund the right to control which trades get executed: where, what time, what priority they had; everyone would say, this is an unfair market. and unfortunately that's kind of what's going on today on ethereum and most leader-based blockchains, because of the proposer."

on recapturing value for lps
"what Angstrom does differently is instead of giving up liquidity to whoever the proposer decides is bribing them the most, we create a local auction that says: if you want to execute an arbitrage, you have to go through this auction and bid that value back to the liquidity provider, which enables them to recapture it directly.”

you can just build things (on unichain)

lending, supercharged: redstone atom is live, and it proactively improves the efficiency of lending protocols with liquidation intelligence. it dynamically captures oracle extractable value and redirects value back to the protocols. read all about it here.

kelp rewards live: rseth holders can now earn additional yields through new pools on uniswap and lending on morpho via unichain, stacking rewards on top of ethereum staking yields.

unimon v2 is near: the nft battle-game where you mint mystery monsters, evolve them with energy, and watch daily elimination battles until winners split the eth prize pool is almost back. if you missed szn01, season 2 brings enhanced gameplay and new rewards. we literally cannot wait. get updates here.
